Benefit Haul

You may have noticed at the top to my blog that there is a poll regarding Benefit concealer and which is most preferable. This is due to feeling like I need to branch out a bit and try new brands...

I decided that concealer was an area at which I felt could be the most improved in my beauty kit.

During my shopping trip in Glasgow I decided to visit the Benefit beauty counter, located on the second level in the House of Fraser on Buchanan Street. Originally I just wanted to see and compare the three most known concealing products they had. The beauty advisor was so helpful! She sat me down and helped me to decide what I was really looking for; a strong 'everything' concealer aka Boi-ing! She also clued me in on the fact that, for a couple of extra pounds, I could buy the How to Look the Best at Everything Kit (light). I 'umm-ed' and 'ahh-ed' over the decision for a while but felt that, as I am also purchasing the Candy Coated advent calendar in November, that I should wait and try what I get in there first.

As she was ringing up my purchase, she decided to throw in THE SAME SIZE 'Porefessional' and 'Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow' foundation. AND!! A free Benefit travel make up bag. You should have seen me; I was practically in tears at how nice that was. I had never been to a beauty counter before, but I know that that is not the everyday norm. I can definitely say that I will be going back to visit her again. A perfect introduction to the Benefit world!

MAC: Fraud or Not?

It's getting to the time of year when  people start gathering together all there gifts in the rush to the holiday season. They start trying to get the best gifts possible for the best price they can. Unfortunately that leaves them vulnerable for people to take advantage of them. The most common form of this is through the use of counterfeit goods.  Recently a MAC lipstick was purchased for me, as a Christmas gift, from eBay. When I learned of it I was immediately sceptical and dubious of how genuine it was; I like to research into the item and view the pictures available myself. When I checked the listing, the lipstick was listed as 'MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick'. Upon looking at the details and the images available, I noticed that there were very few specifics and one general image of the lipstick with the lid off. I immediately wrote to the seller asking for pictures of the bottom label on the box and the lipstick tube (Well as details such as finish and shade). I kn

Totally Fabby MAC Lipstick!

I'm in the middle of shopping for new products; sort of preparing for the transition from winter to spring. Instead of picking up deep burgundies and warm chocolates, I have started to pick up pastel pinks and vanillas. I cannot wait of the warmer weather to roll in.  MAC frost lipstick in the shade Fabby was one of those new seasonal additions I picked up recently. Fabby is a really muted rosy pink shade with a frost finish. The draw point, for me, is the frost sheen gives kind of a golden overlay to the lips. The golden tone just adds an extra dimension, and helps brighten up any makeup look.  For being a frost finish, the colour pigmentation is quite opaque with a single swipe. The texture is not that creamy, and I don't mean that in a bad way. I'd describe it more as very similar to that of a MAC matte finish; creamy and not glossy. I feel that Fabby is one of MACs more overlooked shades; passed over in favour of the more hyped about lipstic

Barry M Colour Changing Lip Paint in Neptune

Remember way, way back, back to the very beginning of my blog. One of the very first products that I reviewed was the Barry M Lip Paint in the shade Genie. For those who don't know, Genie is an unusual colour changing lipstick. While it looks green in the tube, it turns a shade of pink on the lips that is supposed to be different for each person. It is supposed to be a result of the lipstick reacting to the alkaline level of the lips.
