New Storage Bargains

Have you ever had that moment where you end up buying a bit (or a LOT!) of makeup before getting home and realising that you had ran out of space in your nice, neat storage area.

Well..

That was me on Saturday. I had just done a final Christmas pressie haul, conveniently from my mother to me, and realisied that there was no way all of that would fit into my drawers. I panicked, I had just bought new clear acrylic storage for my drawers from
IKEA and I wasn't looking forward to having to replace it all. I knew from amazon that a decent sized acrylic holder would set me back at least £25, not including postage.

I'm very fortunate that at that time I was in a Tk Maxx store; having just finished my last purchase when my caught a women in line with ACRYLIC STORAGE! My eyes must have nearly bulged out their sockets. I hunted far and low in the store looking for them, only to find them in the bathroom section. There were all sorts and sizes; it was like I'd gone to heaven. There were stacked drawers, similar to that from Muji, and lipstick holders galore.

I bought several pieces and put a few away for Christmas, but the one's in the picture are what I kept. The 12 lipstick holder was only £3.99!!! The drawers were £20!! That's a bargain to me.

MAC: Fraud or Not?

It's getting to the time of year when  people start gathering together all there gifts in the rush to the holiday season. They start trying to get the best gifts possible for the best price they can. Unfortunately that leaves them vulnerable for people to take advantage of them. The most common form of this is through the use of counterfeit goods.  Recently a MAC lipstick was purchased for me, as a Christmas gift, from eBay. When I learned of it I was immediately sceptical and dubious of how genuine it was; I like to research into the item and view the pictures available myself. When I checked the listing, the lipstick was listed as 'MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick'. Upon looking at the details and the images available, I noticed that there were very few specifics and one general image of the lipstick with the lid off. I immediately wrote to the seller asking for pictures of the bottom label on the box and the lipstick tube (Well as details such as finish and shade). I kn

Totally Fabby MAC Lipstick!

I'm in the middle of shopping for new products; sort of preparing for the transition from winter to spring. Instead of picking up deep burgundies and warm chocolates, I have started to pick up pastel pinks and vanillas. I cannot wait of the warmer weather to roll in.  MAC frost lipstick in the shade Fabby was one of those new seasonal additions I picked up recently. Fabby is a really muted rosy pink shade with a frost finish. The draw point, for me, is the frost sheen gives kind of a golden overlay to the lips. The golden tone just adds an extra dimension, and helps brighten up any makeup look.  For being a frost finish, the colour pigmentation is quite opaque with a single swipe. The texture is not that creamy, and I don't mean that in a bad way. I'd describe it more as very similar to that of a MAC matte finish; creamy and not glossy. I feel that Fabby is one of MACs more overlooked shades; passed over in favour of the more hyped about lipstic

Barry M Colour Changing Lip Paint in Neptune

Remember way, way back, back to the very beginning of my blog. One of the very first products that I reviewed was the Barry M Lip Paint in the shade Genie. For those who don't know, Genie is an unusual colour changing lipstick. While it looks green in the tube, it turns a shade of pink on the lips that is supposed to be different for each person. It is supposed to be a result of the lipstick reacting to the alkaline level of the lips.
