Clothing and Beauty Haul

A little exam procrastination!

I have my Psychology final today, and I'm at that point where I not longer care what will happen. That does not bode well considering that my attendance was sketchy at best. I just want to pass, I don't care about the grade I get.

So, anyway. I had a bit of another shopping trip todayyy! I hit up my most favourite store in the world, TK Maxx, and also, as strange as it may seem; my workplace. I work at a national store known as Store 21; it only opened back in March. It is a bit of a value store, specialising in homeward and womenswear, but also selling menswear, childrenswear, nightwear, lingerie and shoes. A little mix of everything. It's a bit like TK Maxx; either a bit or a miss.

I got this totally cute knitted waffle jumper! It's so warm and snuggl y; perfect for the winter weather. It's actually a baby powder blue, instead of the blue-grey it is in the picture. It is currently on 30% off, so instead of £12.99 it was £9.09 (found here).

The next item I purchased was this midi maxi jumper. It is available in black, red, stone and this grey 'striped' colour. It is also super soft and snuggly, with a much smaller knitted pattern. I think that it will go perfect with some skinny jeans and a pair of black chunky boots. It is also currently on 30% off, instead of £14.99 it was £10.49 (found here).

It's gotten a lot icier here in Scotland, and so I was in desperate for boots with a better grip on the soles. These are similar in style to CAT boots, which are known for being very study. They are made cuter by the tawny fur cuff. These were £22.99, which makes them one of the more expensive products in the store.

I recently got the large IKEA white lace plant pot (that everyone has!), but I don't actually have that many brushes. I knew I needed some kind of beads or sand in the pot to make them stand up straight. I got three packs of these clear decorative jewels which, while lighter, work as well as sand and such. They were £1.99 each, and after my staff discount they were only £1.20.

There were lots of Revlon products in this week, compared to the past few weeks. There was so much choice, but I picked up two of the Revlon Lip Butters. The above is the shade Invite Only, and the one below is Provocative. They both are more of balms as they have very little to no pigmentation; Invite Only gives the lips a hint of a blue tone. Both were priced at £2.99; a bargain in my opinion!

I picked up this Revlon Super Lustrous Lip-gloss in the shade #150 Peach Petal. I love this! I expected to a very sheer, thin formula, but I was shocked. The pigmentation is so strong; it's a light, peachy nude colour. It is my new favorite lip-gloss. It was £4.99, I think?

The last purchase, this time, was this Physicians Formula Organic Wear loose powder in Beige Organics. When I first read the word 'Beige' I thought it would be far too dark for me, but the powder looked quite pale, so I took a chance. The powder actually matched me perfectly and is very light in texture. It was only £3.99!

The closer it gets to Christmas, the more I feel the urge to shop. It's a dangerous addiction. As I said my exam is today 9-12, please pray for my soul as I guarantee I will need it!

MAC: Fraud or Not?

It's getting to the time of year when  people start gathering together all there gifts in the rush to the holiday season. They start trying to get the best gifts possible for the best price they can. Unfortunately that leaves them vulnerable for people to take advantage of them. The most common form of this is through the use of counterfeit goods.  Recently a MAC lipstick was purchased for me, as a Christmas gift, from eBay. When I learned of it I was immediately sceptical and dubious of how genuine it was; I like to research into the item and view the pictures available myself. When I checked the listing, the lipstick was listed as 'MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick'. Upon looking at the details and the images available, I noticed that there were very few specifics and one general image of the lipstick with the lid off. I immediately wrote to the seller asking for pictures of the bottom label on the box and the lipstick tube (Well as details such as finish and shade). I kn

Totally Fabby MAC Lipstick!

I'm in the middle of shopping for new products; sort of preparing for the transition from winter to spring. Instead of picking up deep burgundies and warm chocolates, I have started to pick up pastel pinks and vanillas. I cannot wait of the warmer weather to roll in.  MAC frost lipstick in the shade Fabby was one of those new seasonal additions I picked up recently. Fabby is a really muted rosy pink shade with a frost finish. The draw point, for me, is the frost sheen gives kind of a golden overlay to the lips. The golden tone just adds an extra dimension, and helps brighten up any makeup look.  For being a frost finish, the colour pigmentation is quite opaque with a single swipe. The texture is not that creamy, and I don't mean that in a bad way. I'd describe it more as very similar to that of a MAC matte finish; creamy and not glossy. I feel that Fabby is one of MACs more overlooked shades; passed over in favour of the more hyped about lipstic

Barry M Colour Changing Lip Paint in Neptune

Remember way, way back, back to the very beginning of my blog. One of the very first products that I reviewed was the Barry M Lip Paint in the shade Genie. For those who don't know, Genie is an unusual colour changing lipstick. While it looks green in the tube, it turns a shade of pink on the lips that is supposed to be different for each person. It is supposed to be a result of the lipstick reacting to the alkaline level of the lips.
