Essie Nail Lacquer in 'Toggle to the Top'

It is getting closer to that time of year...and the end of my winter exams!! I feel that Christmas is now rushing in and that I still have so much to get done. I decided to have a little pamper evening to try and chill out a bit. I ran a bath, used a mask and painted my nails. I'm currently in a blissed out mood; feeling fresh with sparkling festive nails.

Wet n Wild Comfort Zone Palette

I thought I'd take a step back from throwing Christmas spirit everywhere, and do a bit of a makeup review. That's why I first started blogging as well as my favourite part. I bought the Wet n Wild Comfort Zone palette back in September when I was in Florida because, frankly, I'd seen it everywhere prior to my trip. Every makeup collection video, monthly favourites, hauls; it was EVERYWHERE! Naturally, I had to pick it up.

Festive Haul

It's been a while since I've posted a haul up on my blog, purely just because I've not done any purchasing worth mentioning. Just little bits and bobs here and there. I've been picking up bits and pieces while completing my Christmas shopping.

Christmas Luxury Beauty Gift Guide

1.  Jacklyn Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector in Champagne Pop £30 , 2.  Classic Single BeautyBlender and Solid Cleanser Kit £18 , 3.  By Terry Ombre Blackstar £29 , 4.  Glamglow Youthmud Tingle Exfoliate Treatment £50 , 5.  NARS Kabuki Artisan Yachiyo Brush £43 , 6.  Kevin Aucoin Essentially Matte Holiday Palette £46.50 , 7.  Laura Mercier Almond Coconut Milk Honey Bath £33 , 8.  NARS Sheer Glow Foundation £31 , 9.  Tocca Isabel Eau de Parfum £54 , 10.  Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder £38 , 11.  NARS Blush £23 , 12.  Kiehls Midnight Recovery Concentrate £36 , 13.  This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Talk £22 I wanted to post this at the end of last month, but everyday there was at least four different Gift Guides being published. I though I'd wait a bit instead of posting something that might have went unnoticed. They seem to have slowed  down a bit, probably because it's getting close, so now is a good time to publish.

November Favourites

It's monthly favourites time!! November has been a busy month with all the exam prep and final papers to be submitted, so not as much makeup as normal.

Christmas Tag!

I love Christmas time! It is the best part of the year. It also means Christmas Tag time!

Barry M Nail Paint in 'Vintage Violet'

New favourite alert! I recently cannot get enough of the Barry M Nail Paint in 'Vintage Violet'! It has been all I've worn for the past two weeks. Vintage Violet is a blue toned plum colour, that has the dulled down tone to it. I find it quite hard to explain. I think it's an unusual colour as I haven't found anything similar to it yet. It's a deep and rich colour; two coats is all it needs to reach full opacity. It's such an autumnal shade; perfect for the dark evenings and dreary weather.

Garnier Micellar water

To be honest, I never thought that I would buy this product! I remember when it first came out I thought it was just 'fancy packaged water for your face.' Now, I have been officially converted to the religion that is micellar water.

Illamasqua Nail Varnish in 'Radium'

My current favourite nail varnish. I've been using it to combat the winter blues, as such. The weather here, in my part of Scotland, has been dismal. Rain, Rain, Rain! The temperatures are getting so cold, I wonder sometimes if it is acceptable to just hibernate until spring. This colour acts as a little pick me up to keep me happy until the weather gets better.

Lush Christmas Haul

In case you all have not heard, Lush launched their Christmas products. Only joking! Who doesn't know that Christmas is now stocked; it seems like everyone is doing their Christmas Lush hauls now. I was not really a bath bomb person until I picked up the Fluffy Egg at Easter. Now I'm hooked! I thought that I'd join in with my little Christmas Haul.

Eyeliners? Eyeliners everywhere! - written

Now I won't lie to you guys, I'm shocked to be writing this post. You might wonder 'it's just eyeliner, what's so wrong with that?' A couple of months ago...I had only ever used one type, one brand of 'everyday' eyeliner. Since the dawn of time I have only ever used Rimmel Glam Eyes Liquid Eyeliner. Last month I kinda went a bit crazy and snapped up a lot of new eyeliner types to try, after all 'how do you know you don't like it if you've never tried it?' In this post I decided to talk about different eyeliner types, favourite product for each, and how I feel about them.

Bonfire Night!

Happy Bonfire Night! I love Bonfire Night, mostly because it's like one of the last public 'celebrations' until Christmas. I think after tonight there is just the local switching on of the city's Christmas lights and then...Christmas! Where has the year went?!

Nails Inc Gel Effect in Porchester Square

I picked this up while in a Sephora, in the States. I was one of those buys on a whim, like 'I don't need it but I want it'. My only previous Nails Inc polish before hand had been from a Glamour magazine, which I really enjoyed, so I was ready to try more.

October Favourites

I t's been a while since I've done a monthly favourites, and I have to say I missed it. September was a bust with coming back from America part way through, so October was my best time to sit down and write one !

Halloween Lace Mask

I thought I'd try a completely new Halloween look, instead of just trying to better my one's from last year. I had seen photos of girls painting lace masks on to their faces and it really intrigued the artsy side of me. I thought I'd at least give it a try!

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in 'Nude-ist'

I have been on the hunt for that perfect nude lipstick, so far to no avail. I went to Superdrug, H&M, Accessorize, and even MAC! Just nothing seemed to catch my fancy. I seemed to be in one of those 'never satisfied' moods; I mean if you can find a lipstick at MAC to make you happy, then give up. Fortunately, I decided to try one more store before giving it up as a bad joke. Boots was my saving grace; especially with their offer of '3 for 2' across the makeup section. I picked up the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet, as it's something I've seen pop up on the internet form time to time. I thought I'd give it a try as I had nothing to lose; and lots of bloggers said that it is a genuinely good product.

Festive Cranberry Face Mask

I feel that the older you get the more you anticipate and look forward to the holiday season. There is just such an indescribable feeling when Christmas stuff starts to appear in store displays, and I must admit, I start to go a little mad. To me, holiday season prep begins in October. I'm not starting my official holiday gift shopping until nearer to the end of November, so I popped into my local Lush store to get a pick me up. There was so much holiday stuff there that I went a bit mental just smelling everything. I picked up a couple of things, but I want to focus on one item in particular.

Essie Nail Polish in 'Cozy in Cashmere'

I went looking for a new nail polish that was nude or a bit toned down for this season. I recently had to cut off all the tips of my nails as they were too damaged through peeling and breaking. I usually go to Barry M, but there was nothing there that was calling to me. So I need up in front of Essie, which I wouldn't usually buy unless it was from Tk Maxx.

Chocolate Coated Toffee Apples

Toffee apple season is upon us! I am not a huge fan of the traditional British toffee apple, but when I was in Disney World I tried one of the Mickey candy apples and...it was love at first bite! I thought I'd combine the tradition of a toffee apple in autumn, but with the Disney flavours. You will need: Apples Dairy Toffees/Caramels(Uk/US) Skewers or lollipop sticks Chocolate

Cheetah Halloween Makeup

The second part of this years Halloween series. I kept flip-flopping between having this post focusing on either chocolate-caramel apples (!!) or halloween makeup. I get so much enjoyment out of halloween makeup so that greatly influenced my decision.

Top Picks from Holiday Haul!

I  bought a ton of beauty products on holiday in Florida; I could stock a drugstore beauty aisle. I have enough makeup to keep me going until my next trip in 240 DAYS!!! I wanted to share with you all some of my favourite products that I purchased. There will be a mix of exclusive to the US (or very hard to get in the UK) and normal products that can be found at the likes of Superdrug.

My Little Pumpkins

I'm not going to lie; I've started my Halloween festivities already. I have an electronic pumpkin sitting on my desk flickering away, and the scent of Yankee Candle Candy Corn is in the air. To me the approach of Halloween signifies the beginning of the lead up to the winter holidays. The cold nights are creeping in, hot chocolate must be on hand at all times, and tartan scarves are EVERYWHERE! I live it!

Sephora Green Tea Fiber Mask

Since my return from the States, my skin has taken a turn for the worse. I've started to notice spots forming along my chin and nose, which makes me feel all 'bleugh'. I used to suffer quite badly with spots when I was younger, so any occurrences make me feel like I'm back to being a spotty twelve year old. Honestly, not a good point in my life. I thought I'd use this time to try the Sephora Green Tea Fiber Face Mask.

Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Susperia

I'm not gonna lie; I bought a lot of makeup over in America. Many of the next post will involve products that may only be available in the States (to my knowledge!). I went to the Sephora in the Florida Mall and they were nearly cleared out of all the shades of the Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick, so I had limited choice. That's not to say that I'm unhappy with what I picked(in fact, I really love it), I was just disappointed a bit.

Revlon Nail Varnish in Vixen

I am back!!! America was amazing, and the shopping was phenomenal. Unfortunately that means it's back to the university grind for me; to top it this is my degree year were I'll find out if I'm graduating with a first or second class. How scary :( But enough of that, back to the original content. This is one of the contenders for my favourite nail varnish for autumn. Revlon's nail varnish in 'Vixen' is what I'd call a dark cherry shade. A really dark and deep burgundy colour that appears almost black until you take a second glance.

Nail Saviours

I have always suffered with bad nails. When I was younger I was a bitter, like as far down as possible. It tapered off around the age of 16 when I started becoming more into nail art, but I still struggled to grow them out. The main problems I now fight with are peeling and weakness which destroy my nails on a regular basis. The psychology student in me would say it's all down to genetics and can't be changed, but that's not something I want to accept.

Fav or Flop: Maybelline Great Lash Mascara

I'm all about trying new products recently and this post is no exception! If you follow me on Instagram  (lots of pictures of cats, food, nails, you know, the usual fare) the you would haves seen that I picked up a brand new mascara that I was pretty chuffed to find. I had been honing in on this as being one of the next products I wanted to try, so to find it at a bargain price; there was no question I'd pick it up!

Ultimate Summer Nails

I made the decision to not have my nails professionally done before I go on holiday, instead I want to save the money for a splurge in Duty-Free. I'm just going to do my own french tipped nails, so that they are no fuss and I don't have to lug about ten bottles of nail polish away with me. This has led to my hunt for the perfect summer nail colour, which I think I have found!

Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Liner

I  think I've mentioned it before that I'm not super into eyeliners. I've used the same brand and product since I first learnt how to apply it. I've recently been feeling like I want to branch out and try new things. I went out with the intention of buying a gel liner, to try it out and see if it is something I could potentially see myself using a lot more. We've all seen videos where girls apply seamlessly flawless gel liner; well I want that! I picked up this Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Liner out of my local Superdrug, also picking up a Maybelline Great Lash Mascara because 'branching out' and all that. It was really the first one I noticed, and I wasn't all that bothered about the brand to be honest.

Too Faced Exotic Colour Intense Eyeshadow in Copper Peony

Add caption I received this way, way back in my March Cohorted box, and have since been admiring it from afar. I didn't feel comfortable with such a bright and vivid colour for quite some time, but I finally worked up the courage to use it. I actually think it works really well with my eyes; it makes their green colour really pop.

Holiday Makeup

I know lots of people have already done their version of this post since summer is nearing it's end, but I still have to go on holiday. I seem to have left my summer holiday until the last possible moment.  As I'm going to Florida, I have been given quite a high luggage allowance, but I plan on bringing back A LOT! This means that I have to be rather scrimping with what goes in as too much will leave little space to bring back. I probably still have too much!

Happy Birthday Surprises!

I cannot believe that I am 22 already; where has time gone?! I still feel like that young girl who was eagerly looking forward to her 18th birthday and adulthood, having just left school. Now here I am my 22nd birthday and away to start my third year of psychology. Time flies when you are having fun! My mum completely spoiled me, considering it is three weeks until we go to Florida. I thought I'd share some of the lovely bits and bobs that she gave me.

Bourjois 1 Seconde Nail Polish in 'God Save the Green'

I had to go out and buy a new polish this weekend as there was nothing in my collection that was tickling my fancy. I've really been liking opaque creamy polishes with no shimmer or sparkle to them. It's just one of those odd nail phases I tend to go through. I picked up this rather pleasing shade at my local Superdrug.

July Favourites

As always with the end of the month comes my July monthly favourites!

Too Faced Lip Injection Color Bomb!

It is very rare for me to come across a product that I dislike; the only product that I have come across so far is the E.l.f Baked Eye-shadow Palette in Texas. It's not that the product is necessarily a really bad product, but just because it doesn't work as well for me. What I hate another person might actually really love. That being said I love to give anything a chance and this product is no exception.  I picked up this Too Faced Lip Injection Color Bomb! in the colour Coral Pop a few months back. Too Faced has so far came out with some amazing products that I really love - like the Chocolate Bar Palette and the Exotic Colour Intense Eye-shadows -which made me really eager to try a lip product.

A Dewy Finish with Illamasqua Satin Primer

One of the things I enjoy so muc h about blogging is trying new things. It helps me to see different products and find new favourites that I might otherwise overlook. Primer are one area of my collection that I feel has been severely unattended to in my collection; I have been quite comfortable with my favourites that I have stopped considering any others. I have only got silicone based primers in my makeup collection, such as Benefit Porefessional and bareMinerals Prime Time. I find that those types of primers are what work best of my skin as it have lots of enlarged pores. They give my skin a smoother finish, as well as helping my makeup to last a whole lot longer. I could say that silicone primers are my favourites, but how could I judge if they were the only ones I tried?  This led me to purchasing the Illamasqua Satin Primer during my recent order on their website.

Best matte foundation from the drugstore?

I've not been feeling that great the past few days which led to me not feeling as up to writing as I usually do. I don't feel that today's post is my best work, but it is at a point where there is nothing more can be done while I feel like this. I thought I'd share my thoughts on the Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation. I rarely buy foundations other than my Loreal True Match foundation or my Rimmel Match Perfection foundation, but this caught my interest last month after seeing other bloggers write about it.

Scary New Eyeliner

For most of the time that I have been into makeup, I have been a one eyeliner kind of gal. From the time I learnt how to apply eyeliner I have stuck to, not only the same brand, but also the exact same product. Maybe I'm the only one but I have problems with eyeliner. I find it so hard to apply and, if I'm doing a cat eye I have to use so much time and effort.

Running through fields of Pink Clover

Whist I was doing some more sale shopping I stopped into my favourite Tk Maxx store to see if there was anything worth buying. I stalked up and down the makeup aisle for a while debating whether I actually needed anything when I came across this little palette.

Illamasqua Nail Varnish in 'Fire Rose'

I was browsing the online sales on last week, picking up bits and bobs for my holiday, when I got bit by the 'makeup bug'. The only known cure is to splurge on products you don't need, but want to have. I would be the first to admit that I have a problem with regards to my shopping habit; although it makes me happy. If I hadn't 'stumbled' across the Illamasqua website and this lovely shade that's on my nails now.

Little Twinkling Fairy Lights

I was rooting through the deep abyss in which I keep all my nail varnishes when I stumbled upon this pretty little beauty. To my shock it had never been opened; the plastic seal was still on it. I was so shocked that it was still sealed as it's rare for me to not even try a product out.

Almost a month until Disney!

Oh my god, I can't believe that in roughly a month I'll be back at the most magical place on earth Disney World! I could die of a happiness overload.

The King of Palettes - Urban Decay Vice 3

One of the shining jewels in my makeup collection is this amazing palette, the Urban Decay Vice 3. It is one of the most colourful and versatile palettes that I own, which warrants it it's own blog post!

Rimmel 'Too Cool to Tango'

As I get closer to my Florida holiday, I've started searching for that perfect summer shade. I'm planning on getting acrylics with almond tips, but I still need a pretty colour over that. Rimmel's 'Too Cool to Tango' is a high contender for a place on my perfect summer shades list!

bareMinerals Flawless Complexion Essentials

When I was shopping last November, for the first time in Glasgow, I knew I wanted to pop into the bareMinerals Boutique. It was never my intention to get something of this magnitude, perhaps just a lipgloss, but this was calling to me. This kit was essentially my introduction to bareMinerals products.

Rimmel Scandaleyes Eye-shadow Stick in 'Teasing Turquoise'

I had a party this month which meant another chance for me to doll myself all up. I find that these occasions are when I most likely am to experiment with new products and looks. This time it was the Rimmel Scandaleyes Eye-shadow Stick in 'Teasing Turquoise'.

So Hard to Resist

I have had this little ditty in my possession for a couple of months now, and I love it so much that I just had to share it. It's become my everyday shade when I can't be bothered to make anymore effort than is actually necessary.
