Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in #220 Showy

Believe it or not but I'm not usually one for big bold, bright lip colours. I sometimes feel like I'm not confident to pull them off. This all changed when I laid eyes on the Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in the shade #220 Showy. It was just screaming 'BUY ME!'

The first two things that hit me about this particular one were; colour and smell. The colour is a very bright bubblegum, barbie pink which is very much blue toned. The packing makes it seem like it would be a bit more warmer toned than what it actually is. The smell is this amazing minty peppermint that just floods the air when I take the cap off the stick. I love peppermint. I leaves me feeling so fresh and bright after applying this.

The texture of this on my lips is very smooth and velvet-like. It just makes my lips feel oh-so very soft. The matte balm has amazing staying power; when I put this on it can last up to, and most often, over four hours. The pigmentation is strong; a single swipe can be sufficient for the shade to become opaque. It leaves behind a soft, bright pink stain behind after most of the product worn away.

The only down side to this is that it can cling to any patches of dry skin that may be on the lips. I make sure to give my lips a good exfoliation and conditioning before applying to make the effect seamless.

I'm in love; I really want to try the other colours now!

MAC: Fraud or Not?

It's getting to the time of year when  people start gathering together all there gifts in the rush to the holiday season. They start trying to get the best gifts possible for the best price they can. Unfortunately that leaves them vulnerable for people to take advantage of them. The most common form of this is through the use of counterfeit goods.
Recently a MAC lipstick was purchased for me, as a Christmas gift, from eBay. When I learned of it I was immediately sceptical and dubious of how genuine it was; I like to research into the item and view the pictures available myself. When I checked the listing, the lipstick was listed as 'MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick'. Upon looking at the details and the images available, I noticed that there were very few specifics and one general image of the lipstick with the lid off. I immediately wrote to the seller asking for pictures of the bottom label on the box and the lipstick tube (Well as details such as finish and shade). I knew th…

Farewell to Lime Crime Unicorn Lipsticks

As you may, or may not, know Lime Crime are discontinuing their Unicorn Lipsticks. Such a sad thing, I know. I remember first hearing of the lipstick from a family member who had one in their collection. I always promised myself that one day, I would have a Unicorn Lipstick. When I seen their Instagram post about the discontinue, I immediately went onto their website and bought not one or two, but THREE Unicorn Lipstick. Let me tell you I have never been happier; their are no post buy regrets on these babies!

Barry M Colour Changing Lip Paint in Neptune

Remember way, way back, back to the very beginning of my blog. One of the very first products that I reviewed was the Barry M Lip Paint in the shade Genie. For those who don't know, Genie is an unusual colour changing lipstick. While it looks green in the tube, it turns a shade of pink on the lips that is supposed to be different for each person. It is supposed to be a result of the lipstick reacting to the alkaline level of the lips.
