July Favourites

July Makeup Favourites: Body Shol Mango Hand Gel, Bourjois Volumizer Mascara, Sephora by Opi Hi Def, Benefit Boi-ing concealer, bareMinerals Moxie Lipgloss Hot shot

As always with the end of the month comes my July monthly favourites!

The Body Shop Mango Hand Cleanse Gel
I love this stuff! I don't know how many times I have re-purchased this specific scent. It's fresh and sweet smelling without being too overpowering. I carry it around in my bag where ever I go. I have no doubt I'll be making a trip down to my local store to pick up some for my suitcase!

Sephora by OPI Nail Colour in Hi Def
Hi Def is a bright vivid orange colour which is the perfect summer shade! Here in Scotland the weather has been a bit abismal with rain and general overcast clouds, so this has been a bit of a cheer up to me.

Bourjois Volumizer Mascara
This is one of my current favourite masaras. It's a two step volumizer to give a 3D volume effect to your lashes. I just use the first step though as it separates and defines my lashes so perfectly.

Benefit Boi-ing
My ultimate concealer; no doubt! It covers all the blemishes and scarring on my face with such a full coverage, which i good because it is advertised as 'industrial strength'. I have hit pan in the middle so I'l have to be picking a new one up soon.

bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie in Hot Shot

I've been reaching more for lipglosses this month instead of lipsticks, and this is the top of the bunch. For being a lipgloss it has great pigmentation, and the minty smell is to die for

This is my last monthly favourites at the end of August for Florida. Between now and then I will be starting to schedule posts to upload during the period I'm away. This may mean that less content is published during August, but maybe not. It all depends on how organised I can be (not very!).

What's been your favourite products for the month of July?

MAC: Fraud or Not?

It's getting to the time of year when  people start gathering together all there gifts in the rush to the holiday season. They start trying to get the best gifts possible for the best price they can. Unfortunately that leaves them vulnerable for people to take advantage of them. The most common form of this is through the use of counterfeit goods.  Recently a MAC lipstick was purchased for me, as a Christmas gift, from eBay. When I learned of it I was immediately sceptical and dubious of how genuine it was; I like to research into the item and view the pictures available myself. When I checked the listing, the lipstick was listed as 'MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick'. Upon looking at the details and the images available, I noticed that there were very few specifics and one general image of the lipstick with the lid off. I immediately wrote to the seller asking for pictures of the bottom label on the box and the lipstick tube (Well as details such as finish and shade). I kn

Totally Fabby MAC Lipstick!

I'm in the middle of shopping for new products; sort of preparing for the transition from winter to spring. Instead of picking up deep burgundies and warm chocolates, I have started to pick up pastel pinks and vanillas. I cannot wait of the warmer weather to roll in.  MAC frost lipstick in the shade Fabby was one of those new seasonal additions I picked up recently. Fabby is a really muted rosy pink shade with a frost finish. The draw point, for me, is the frost sheen gives kind of a golden overlay to the lips. The golden tone just adds an extra dimension, and helps brighten up any makeup look.  For being a frost finish, the colour pigmentation is quite opaque with a single swipe. The texture is not that creamy, and I don't mean that in a bad way. I'd describe it more as very similar to that of a MAC matte finish; creamy and not glossy. I feel that Fabby is one of MACs more overlooked shades; passed over in favour of the more hyped about lipstic

Barry M Colour Changing Lip Paint in Neptune

Remember way, way back, back to the very beginning of my blog. One of the very first products that I reviewed was the Barry M Lip Paint in the shade Genie. For those who don't know, Genie is an unusual colour changing lipstick. While it looks green in the tube, it turns a shade of pink on the lips that is supposed to be different for each person. It is supposed to be a result of the lipstick reacting to the alkaline level of the lips.
