Scary New Eyeliner

For most of the time that I have been into makeup, I have been a one eyeliner kind of gal. From the time I learnt how to apply eyeliner I have stuck to, not only the same brand, but also the exact same product. Maybe I'm the only one but I have problems with eyeliner. I find it so hard to apply and, if I'm doing a cat eye I have to use so much time and effort.

I picked up this Rimmel Scandaleyes Precision Micro Eyeliner for a £1 out of my local Poundstore, thinking I'm not exactly losing a lot of it doesn't work for me. Being a felt tip eyeliner, it was a far cry from my usual liner brush tip applicator that comes with my number one Rimmel Glam Eyes Liquid Liner. The pen was easy to hold and, surprisingly apply! I found that dragging the pen as close to my eyelashes as possible, at a forty-five degree angle and in small strokes, was the best application. From there I was able to build the eyeliner up into my usual thick cat eye finish.

The eyeliner is very pigmented for what I expected out of a felt tip eyeliner. The black shade is strong and not patch in the slightest. The only major fault with this eyeliner is that on the packaging it clearly states: waterproof. It took me mere seconds to wash this off. There was no resistance whatsoever; no residue was left behind.

While it turned out to be better than I thought it was, I was a bit peeved that it was not as waterproof as it said. I still think I enjoy the Rimmel Glam Eyes compared to the Rimmel Scandaleyes Precision Micro Eyeliner.

What is your experience with felt tip eyeliners; love them or hate them?

MAC: Fraud or Not?

It's getting to the time of year when  people start gathering together all there gifts in the rush to the holiday season. They start trying to get the best gifts possible for the best price they can. Unfortunately that leaves them vulnerable for people to take advantage of them. The most common form of this is through the use of counterfeit goods.  Recently a MAC lipstick was purchased for me, as a Christmas gift, from eBay. When I learned of it I was immediately sceptical and dubious of how genuine it was; I like to research into the item and view the pictures available myself. When I checked the listing, the lipstick was listed as 'MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick'. Upon looking at the details and the images available, I noticed that there were very few specifics and one general image of the lipstick with the lid off. I immediately wrote to the seller asking for pictures of the bottom label on the box and the lipstick tube (Well as details such as finish and shade). I kn

Totally Fabby MAC Lipstick!

I'm in the middle of shopping for new products; sort of preparing for the transition from winter to spring. Instead of picking up deep burgundies and warm chocolates, I have started to pick up pastel pinks and vanillas. I cannot wait of the warmer weather to roll in.  MAC frost lipstick in the shade Fabby was one of those new seasonal additions I picked up recently. Fabby is a really muted rosy pink shade with a frost finish. The draw point, for me, is the frost sheen gives kind of a golden overlay to the lips. The golden tone just adds an extra dimension, and helps brighten up any makeup look.  For being a frost finish, the colour pigmentation is quite opaque with a single swipe. The texture is not that creamy, and I don't mean that in a bad way. I'd describe it more as very similar to that of a MAC matte finish; creamy and not glossy. I feel that Fabby is one of MACs more overlooked shades; passed over in favour of the more hyped about lipstic

Barry M Colour Changing Lip Paint in Neptune

Remember way, way back, back to the very beginning of my blog. One of the very first products that I reviewed was the Barry M Lip Paint in the shade Genie. For those who don't know, Genie is an unusual colour changing lipstick. While it looks green in the tube, it turns a shade of pink on the lips that is supposed to be different for each person. It is supposed to be a result of the lipstick reacting to the alkaline level of the lips.
