Fav or Flop: Maybelline Great Lash Mascara

I'm all about trying new products recently and this post is no exception! If you follow me on Instagram (lots of pictures of cats, food, nails, you know, the usual fare) the you would haves seen that I picked up a brand new mascara that I was pretty chuffed to find. I had been honing in on this as being one of the next products I wanted to try, so to find it at a bargain price; there was no question I'd pick it up!

I picked up the Maybelline Great Lash in Blackest Black. I feel it is pretty iconic, as the colourful pink and lime packaging means that it stands out in any makeup collection. I've seen it around in some YouTube videos which placed it on my 'products to buy' list, but it just took a big nudge for me to get it.

I have to say I was not very impressed by the mascara wand. It ticked my mascara box in terms of it having a fiber bristle tip instead of just plastic, but that was it. The precise spiral effect on the wand seemed to make my lashes clump together a lot more than usual. I had to take an extra spoolie afterward to detangle each lash.

I would much rather have a mascara that separated and defined my lashes in the first place instead of me having to go back in afterward. It just seems like too much of a hassle to me (which makes me feel incredibility lazy!). I'm on the fence with it at the moment, but I suppose you could say that it did disappoint me. I think I hyped it up to be this amazing product which it good, but also a bit of a let down.

What is your experience with the Maybelline Great Lash?

MAC: Fraud or Not?

It's getting to the time of year when  people start gathering together all there gifts in the rush to the holiday season. They start trying to get the best gifts possible for the best price they can. Unfortunately that leaves them vulnerable for people to take advantage of them. The most common form of this is through the use of counterfeit goods.
Recently a MAC lipstick was purchased for me, as a Christmas gift, from eBay. When I learned of it I was immediately sceptical and dubious of how genuine it was; I like to research into the item and view the pictures available myself. When I checked the listing, the lipstick was listed as 'MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick'. Upon looking at the details and the images available, I noticed that there were very few specifics and one general image of the lipstick with the lid off. I immediately wrote to the seller asking for pictures of the bottom label on the box and the lipstick tube (Well as details such as finish and shade). I knew th…

Farewell to Lime Crime Unicorn Lipsticks

As you may, or may not, know Lime Crime are discontinuing their Unicorn Lipsticks. Such a sad thing, I know. I remember first hearing of the lipstick from a family member who had one in their collection. I always promised myself that one day, I would have a Unicorn Lipstick. When I seen their Instagram post about the discontinue, I immediately went onto their website and bought not one or two, but THREE Unicorn Lipstick. Let me tell you I have never been happier; their are no post buy regrets on these babies!

Barry M Colour Changing Lip Paint in Neptune

Remember way, way back, back to the very beginning of my blog. One of the very first products that I reviewed was the Barry M Lip Paint in the shade Genie. For those who don't know, Genie is an unusual colour changing lipstick. While it looks green in the tube, it turns a shade of pink on the lips that is supposed to be different for each person. It is supposed to be a result of the lipstick reacting to the alkaline level of the lips.
