Barry M Nail Paint in 'Vintage Violet'

New favourite alert!

I recently cannot get enough of the Barry M Nail Paint in 'Vintage Violet'! It has been all I've worn for the past two weeks. Vintage Violet is a blue toned plum colour, that has the dulled down tone to it. I find it quite hard to explain. I think it's an unusual colour as I haven't found anything similar to it yet. It's a deep and rich colour; two coats is all it needs to reach full opacity.It's such an autumnal shade; perfect for the dark evenings and dreary weather.

The only problem is that if I leave it without a top coat, and do the dishes, it peels off badly. Not in chunks, but the whole colour will peel off as a whole piece. This definitely needs a top coat in order to last more than a day or two.

The holidays are coming and I'm sooo excited!! And so are my exams (not excited), which is why there has been a decrease in my posting. I am writing posts during my breaks, but they are christmas themed for next month. I'd rather put more effort into scheduled posts for next month, instead of writing very short and minimal posts now. I didn't want to completely leave the blog blank though so I went through my scheduled posts and found this wee thing I wrote last week, which I thought people might enjoy.

Can not wait until December so posting becomes a bit more regular!

MAC: Fraud or Not?

It's getting to the time of year when people start gathering together all there gifts in the rush to the holiday season. They start trying to get the best gifts possible for the best price they can. Unfortunately that leaves them vulnerable for people to take advantage of them. The most common form of this is through the use of counterfeit goods. Recently a MAC lipstick was purchased for me, as a Christmas gift, from eBay. When I learned of it I was immediately sceptical and dubious of how genuine it was; I like to research into the item and view the pictures available myself. When I checked the listing, the lipstick was listed as 'MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick'. Upon looking at the details and the images available, I noticed that there were very few specifics and one general image of the lipstick with the lid off. Totally Fabby MAC Lipstick!

I'm in the middle of shopping for new products; sort of preparing for the transition from winter to spring. Instead of picking up deep burgundies and warm chocolates, I have started to pick up pastel pinks and vanillas. I cannot wait of the warmer weather to roll in. MAC frost lipstick in the shade Fabby was one of those new seasonal additions I picked up recently. Fabby is a really muted rosy pink shade with a frost finish. The draw point, for me, is the frost sheen gives kind of a golden overlay to the lips. The golden tone just adds an extra dimension, and helps brighten up any makeup look. For being a frost finish, the colour pigmentation is quite opaque with a single swipe. The texture is not that creamy, and I don't mean that in a bad way. I'd describe it more as very similar to that of a MAC matte finish; creamy and not glossy. Barry M Colour Changing Lip Paint in Neptune

Remember way, way back, back to the very beginning of my blog. One of the very first products that I reviewed was the Barry M Lip Paint in the shade Genie. For those who don't know, Genie is an unusual colour changing lipstick. While it looks green in the tube, it turns a shade of pink on the lips that is supposed to be different for each person. It is supposed to be a result of the lipstick reacting to the alkaline level of the lips.
