Barry M Nail Paint in 'Chilli'

I love to paint my nails; people seem to have cottoned on then notion that nail polish is the way to my heart. I have so many new shades to try thanks to numerous Christmas gifts. I love to share on the blog what shades enjoy, and on the odd occasion, which shades I don't. Now, it's not often that I find any kind of product that I don't like, but it does happen.

The latest polish that I have tried is Barry M Nail Paint in the shade 'Chilli'. I have to say that the colour is amazing; totally on trend with this Autumn/Winter. It is a warm reddish brown colour that is very similar to the colour of chilli powder. The formula drying time is about average. It becomes touch dry fairly quickly, but is deceptively still smudgy for quite a while afterwards.

Now lets talk about something that I don't like about it. It took me four medium thickness coats to get it to a relatively opaque finish. Sometimes still when I hold my hand in the light, I will see that there are lighter and darker areas. Basically, the formula is patchy like no other. I have not had this problem with any other Barry M Nail Paint to date.

The first proper review of the year and it's for a disappointing product. I usually never write about products that don't work out, so this is practically a first for me. I hate being negative, but if it doesn't work for me then I either make it work or I move on!

MAC: Fraud or Not?

It's getting to the time of year when  people start gathering together all there gifts in the rush to the holiday season. They start trying to get the best gifts possible for the best price they can. Unfortunately that leaves them vulnerable for people to take advantage of them. The most common form of this is through the use of counterfeit goods.
Recently a MAC lipstick was purchased for me, as a Christmas gift, from eBay. When I learned of it I was immediately sceptical and dubious of how genuine it was; I like to research into the item and view the pictures available myself. When I checked the listing, the lipstick was listed as 'MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick'. Upon looking at the details and the images available, I noticed that there were very few specifics and one general image of the lipstick with the lid off. I immediately wrote to the seller asking for pictures of the bottom label on the box and the lipstick tube (Well as details such as finish and shade). I knew th…

Farewell to Lime Crime Unicorn Lipsticks

As you may, or may not, know Lime Crime are discontinuing their Unicorn Lipsticks. Such a sad thing, I know. I remember first hearing of the lipstick from a family member who had one in their collection. I always promised myself that one day, I would have a Unicorn Lipstick. When I seen their Instagram post about the discontinue, I immediately went onto their website and bought not one or two, but THREE Unicorn Lipstick. Let me tell you I have never been happier; their are no post buy regrets on these babies!

Barry M Colour Changing Lip Paint in Neptune

Remember way, way back, back to the very beginning of my blog. One of the very first products that I reviewed was the Barry M Lip Paint in the shade Genie. For those who don't know, Genie is an unusual colour changing lipstick. While it looks green in the tube, it turns a shade of pink on the lips that is supposed to be different for each person. It is supposed to be a result of the lipstick reacting to the alkaline level of the lips.
