I really love the quality to Barry M Nail Paints; I think they are one of the best quality to be found in the drugstore. I thought I'd branch out into their other products and see if they are just as good. I picked up the Barry M Get Up & Glow Palette back in December as a free gift with purchase. It is a bronzer, blusher and highlighter palette which I think is very on trend right now. Lots of different brands have, or are coming out with, palettes such as this.
The packaging is amazingly cute. It's baby pink with little mauve and orange light bulbs decorating it. All the writing on the packaging has a rose-gold foil finish, which I love. Rose-gold is my favourite, all my jewellery now comes in that colour. Love it!
The bronzer is very warm toned, perhaps a bit too much for me. Since there is glitter in the bronzer, I wouldn't recommend using it for contouring. I use it purely to give a really, really subtle warmth and glow to my skin. I try not to be too heavy handed as it can tend to look a little too deep on my super pale skin.
The highlight is a shimmery beige-golden colour. I like it, but it's not my absolute favourite. It gives a natural subtle shimmer to the tops of the cheekbones, very appropriate for everyday wear. Don't know, maybe I'm not as in love with it because my affair with theBalm's MaryLou Manzier is still so strong. The more and more I use it, the more and more I like it, so maybe.
The three blushers are very nice and pretty. They are very soft and buttery feeling, and blend smoothly on my skin. The pink and peach colours are very pigmented, but the really pale pink colour is too light to show up on my skin. I just disappears into my natural skin colour.
Despite not being able to decide how I feel about the highlighter, I do really like this product. I think it is perfect for traveling, and may make it into this year's Florida travel makeup bag.
Have you tried any of Barry M's Palettes? I might branch out and try some more after this experience!
