April Monthly Favourites

Please excuse my patchy uploading schedule, I'm right in the middle of exam season and it's kicking me while I'm down. I should be finished mid- May, which only leaves me two weeks to schedule a couple of posts before I leave for Orlando. But, anyway, monthly favourites time.

The weather here in Scotland fluctuating like crazy (a couple of days ago when had scorching sunshine, heavy rain and flurrying snow all in a single day!), I've been bouncing between no makeup and very simplistic, nautural makeup.

NYX Micro Brow Pencil in Taupe
I picked it up to try as it was supposed to be a good dupe for the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz. New holy grail brow product here! I didn't ever think I'd find that brow product that changed my games; but here it is.

Makeup Revolution Vivid Blusher in Rush
Liquid blush, liquid blush! Still riding the liquid blush train at the moment. This month I've been reaching for the Makeup Revolution Vivid Blusher in Rush. When you put a pump on the back of your hand it looks super scary as it's fluorescent pink, but it sheers out to the nicest, safest pink flush.

Tony & Guy Shine Gloss Serum
I had my 'six-monthly' haircut this month, so I've been revamping my haircare products. Certain shampoos are known to make my hair not as shine, so I picked this up for when it's looking that bit dull. It feels really lightweight and has a really nice smell.

Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker in Rose & Shine
I've also been really into a natural, glossy lip this month, with the Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker coming in as the most reached for. The shade Rose & Shine is a really pinky-peachy natural colour, and I love the tingles from the plumping effect.

Another month down, another month closer to Disney World. I so excited...and a little scared at how fast the year is going by!

Tell me some of your monthly favourites in the comments section!

MAC: Fraud or Not?

It's getting to the time of year when  people start gathering together all there gifts in the rush to the holiday season. They start trying to get the best gifts possible for the best price they can. Unfortunately that leaves them vulnerable for people to take advantage of them. The most common form of this is through the use of counterfeit goods.  Recently a MAC lipstick was purchased for me, as a Christmas gift, from eBay. When I learned of it I was immediately sceptical and dubious of how genuine it was; I like to research into the item and view the pictures available myself. When I checked the listing, the lipstick was listed as 'MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick'. Upon looking at the details and the images available, I noticed that there were very few specifics and one general image of the lipstick with the lid off. I immediately wrote to the seller asking for pictures of the bottom label on the box and the lipstick tube (Well as details such as finish and shade). I kn

Totally Fabby MAC Lipstick!

I'm in the middle of shopping for new products; sort of preparing for the transition from winter to spring. Instead of picking up deep burgundies and warm chocolates, I have started to pick up pastel pinks and vanillas. I cannot wait of the warmer weather to roll in.  MAC frost lipstick in the shade Fabby was one of those new seasonal additions I picked up recently. Fabby is a really muted rosy pink shade with a frost finish. The draw point, for me, is the frost sheen gives kind of a golden overlay to the lips. The golden tone just adds an extra dimension, and helps brighten up any makeup look.  For being a frost finish, the colour pigmentation is quite opaque with a single swipe. The texture is not that creamy, and I don't mean that in a bad way. I'd describe it more as very similar to that of a MAC matte finish; creamy and not glossy. I feel that Fabby is one of MACs more overlooked shades; passed over in favour of the more hyped about lipstic

Barry M Colour Changing Lip Paint in Neptune

Remember way, way back, back to the very beginning of my blog. One of the very first products that I reviewed was the Barry M Lip Paint in the shade Genie. For those who don't know, Genie is an unusual colour changing lipstick. While it looks green in the tube, it turns a shade of pink on the lips that is supposed to be different for each person. It is supposed to be a result of the lipstick reacting to the alkaline level of the lips.
