Was it Love at First Blush?

I picked up the Soap & Glory Love at First Blush just before Christmas in a Boots '3 for 2' offer, wanting to try something other than their bath and body products. I'm a big blush fan, so when I'm trying out a new brand I will always go for the blush first.

My research showed that this used to come in a soft plastic casing, but the newer version I purchased is ahard case compact. The black and white vintage image and the pink detailing keeps this having a very iconic Soap & Glory image. The inside lid of the compact has a medium sized mirror, making it perfect for carry about on-the-go.

The blush itself is segmented with different shades; Pink, Pop and Pearl. The are to be swirled together and applied to the cheeks. The shimmer is not so chunky and obvious. The shimmer is very refined and subtle, giving the cheeks a luminosity as well as a subtle flush of soft pink colour. I have very pale skin, as in often too light for drugstore foundations, so this has a medium colour impact, but I think it would be great for all skintones!

I see myself reaching for this more and more now that it's much better weather. I'm now back into baby pinks and a super glowy, luminous complexion. I'm very interested in their other Peach Party Blush.

MAC: Fraud or Not?

It's getting to the time of year when people start gathering together all there gifts in the rush to the holiday season. They start trying to get the best gifts possible for the best price they can. Unfortunately that leaves them vulnerable for people to take advantage of them. The most common form of this is through the use of counterfeit goods. Recently a MAC lipstick was purchased for me, as a Christmas gift, from eBay. When I learned of it I was immediately sceptical and dubious of how genuine it was; I like to research into the item and view the pictures available myself. When I checked the listing, the lipstick was listed as 'MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick'. Upon looking at the details and the images available, I noticed that there were very few specifics and one general image of the lipstick with the lid off. Totally Fabby MAC Lipstick!

I'm in the middle of shopping for new products; sort of preparing for the transition from winter to spring. Instead of picking up deep burgundies and warm chocolates, I have started to pick up pastel pinks and vanillas. I cannot wait of the warmer weather to roll in. MAC frost lipstick in the shade Fabby was one of those new seasonal additions I picked up recently. Fabby is a really muted rosy pink shade with a frost finish. The draw point, for me, is the frost sheen gives kind of a golden overlay to the lips. The golden tone just adds an extra dimension, and helps brighten up any makeup look. For being a frost finish, the colour pigmentation is quite opaque with a single swipe. The texture is not that creamy, and I don't mean that in a bad way. I'd describe it more as very similar to that of a MAC matte finish; creamy and not glossy. Barry M Colour Changing Lip Paint in Neptune

Remember way, way back, back to the very beginning of my blog. One of the very first products that I reviewed was the Barry M Lip Paint in the shade Genie. For those who don't know, Genie is an unusual colour changing lipstick. While it looks green in the tube, it turns a shade of pink on the lips that is supposed to be different for each person. It is supposed to be a result of the lipstick reacting to the alkaline level of the lips.
