August Monthly Favourites

August has gone by in such a flash, I cannot believe I go into the final year of my Psychology degree in two weeks. Where has all the time gone? I feel like I say that every month but I honestly feel like my life is on fast forward right now. You might have noticed that I have not been posting as regularly as I usually do. That's because I am trying to amass a large stockpile of scheduled post for when University starts back. With this being my final year I expect to get really busy with lectures and time in the research labs. So hopefully, starting from next week I can get back to my two-three times a week upload schedule!

With all that said and done, here is my August Monthly Favourites!

E.l.f. Blush Palette in Light
This has been all I have used this month in terms of blush. Small, compact and with four different shades to choose from? A winner every time. My favourite out of the four has to be the bright, blue toned pink; perfect for everyday.

MAC Lip Pencil in Boldly Bare
Has recently become my go-to lip colour for this month. I have been wearing it mostly on it's own with a lip balm thrown over the top for added moisture. It's a dusky reddish brown colour and fairly natural for everyday wear. I love the sharpness that a lip liner can give in comparison to just a lipstick.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer in Fair Neutral
I'm running out!! This is such a only grail product that I will have to repurchase it. I cannot see myself being without it. The shade is just such a perfect match that I'm still amazed by it.

Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Face Primer
My skin has been acting up slightly this month; more breakouts and dry patches than usual. The Hangover primer is so moisturising that it has been my skin saviour for the month. Plus, it's made with coconut water and I love coconut!

Models Own Nail Polish in Green Gladiola
Green Gladiola is all I've been wearing this month, with a few exceptions. I just love how bright and cheerful it is. The light yellow based green colour is perfect for summer, and brightens any dull mood.

Alberto Balsam Smooth and Sleek Nourishing Oil
Not going to lie, my hair has taken a beating recently; with non-stop blow-drying and straightening. The Alberto Balsam Nourishing Oil does what it ways on the tin. I run it all through my hair, concentrating on my ends, and leave on for a good couple of hours. I'll hop on into the shower and wash away, revealing such soft shiny hair afterwards. It's so good that I've already picked up a new bottle and it's raring to go!

What have you been loving this month?

MAC: Fraud or Not?

It's getting to the time of year when  people start gathering together all there gifts in the rush to the holiday season. They start trying to get the best gifts possible for the best price they can. Unfortunately that leaves them vulnerable for people to take advantage of them. The most common form of this is through the use of counterfeit goods.  Recently a MAC lipstick was purchased for me, as a Christmas gift, from eBay. When I learned of it I was immediately sceptical and dubious of how genuine it was; I like to research into the item and view the pictures available myself. When I checked the listing, the lipstick was listed as 'MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick'. Upon looking at the details and the images available, I noticed that there were very few specifics and one general image of the lipstick with the lid off. I immediately wrote to the seller asking for pictures of the bottom label on the box and the lipstick tube (Well as details such as finish and shade). I kn

Totally Fabby MAC Lipstick!

I'm in the middle of shopping for new products; sort of preparing for the transition from winter to spring. Instead of picking up deep burgundies and warm chocolates, I have started to pick up pastel pinks and vanillas. I cannot wait of the warmer weather to roll in.  MAC frost lipstick in the shade Fabby was one of those new seasonal additions I picked up recently. Fabby is a really muted rosy pink shade with a frost finish. The draw point, for me, is the frost sheen gives kind of a golden overlay to the lips. The golden tone just adds an extra dimension, and helps brighten up any makeup look.  For being a frost finish, the colour pigmentation is quite opaque with a single swipe. The texture is not that creamy, and I don't mean that in a bad way. I'd describe it more as very similar to that of a MAC matte finish; creamy and not glossy. I feel that Fabby is one of MACs more overlooked shades; passed over in favour of the more hyped about lipstic

Barry M Colour Changing Lip Paint in Neptune

Remember way, way back, back to the very beginning of my blog. One of the very first products that I reviewed was the Barry M Lip Paint in the shade Genie. For those who don't know, Genie is an unusual colour changing lipstick. While it looks green in the tube, it turns a shade of pink on the lips that is supposed to be different for each person. It is supposed to be a result of the lipstick reacting to the alkaline level of the lips.
