Lush Boxing Day Sale 2016

How are you? Did you have a nice Christmas! Mine was an incredulbily quiet and lazy Christmas. However, Boxing Day was busy. Going to the Lush Boxing Day Sale now seems to be an annual event in my family. And it was so busy this year. Last year I just walked into the store and got my purchases with no problem. But this year I queued for a half hour just to get into my local Lush store.  I did not expect it, at all. However, I am extremely pleased with this years haul.

Salted Coconut Hand Scrub
Can you cay impulse buy! I am one of those people who will continue to browse products while in a queue. If the queue is extremely long then there is a higher chance of me picking up impulse buy. This smells really good. You know how some coconut products can be either extremely strong or extremely artificial. This is neither of those things. I can't wait to see it this will make any different with my hands. Three of the top ingredients are: organ oil, fine sea salt and extra virgin coconut oil.

                                 Fairy Dust Dusting Powder
Last year I purchased the First Snow Dusting Powder because I couldn't get a hold of this baby. The shimmer is not as strong as First Snow which is what I prefer. Best thing of all: it smells like my holy grail Snow Fairy. This also lasts until 2019, so yay me! While it doesn't contain largely amazing ingredients, it does contain both snowflake and flamingo pink lustre.

Golden Wonder Gift Set
The best part of the LUSH 50% off Boxing Day Sale is that the Christmas Gift Sets are also included. This years purchase was the Golden Wonder Gift Set that contains both the Golden Wonder Bath Bomb and the Stardust Bath Bomb.

                                   Stardust Bath Bomb
This was a product that I had no intention of purchasing but it came as part of the Golden Wonder Gift Set. It looks quite nice and smells quite sweet and warming. Three of the top ingredients are: fair-trade vanilla absolute, rosewood oil and bergamot oil.

                                 Golden Wonder Bath Bomb
This is one of my winter all time favourites. I usually buy this every Christmas and I love it! This year I forgot to pick it up, while led to me not having my traditional Christmas Eve soak. I was super thankful that there was some left when I one into the sale. Three of the top ingredients are: cognac oil, gardenia extract and lime oil.

The Magic of Christmas Bubble Bar
I think this is one of the Lush products that embodies the traditional Christmas spirit. With the dried star anise and cloves, along with the cinnamon stick. Just a single smell of this takes you back to the Christmas nostalgia. Three of the top ingredients are: sweet orange oil,  almond oil and cinnamon leaf oil.

                                  Snow Fairy Body Conditioner
This year I received news that my holy grail Snow Fairy was being turned into a body conditioner. And I was right to be. It is amazing! I currently have the smaller one in my shower, so this will be saved for as long as possible. I hope they bring this back next year. Three of the top ingredients are: avocado butter, organic jojoba oil and fair-trade organic cocoa butter.

Candy Mountain Bubble Bar
Yet another product that smells like Snow Fairy. I'm not sure if it is the exact Snow Fairy smell or just really similar, but it is so good. Cannot wait to use this in my bath. Two of the best ingredients are: vanilla absolute and snowflake lustre.

                          The Christmas Penguin Bubble Bar
My next impulse buy. I just think that it looks so cute that I had to pick it up. Three of the top ingredients are: bergamot oil, Sicilian lemon oil and orange flower absolute.

Sugar Plum Fairy Lip Scrub and Sugar Plum Fairy Lip Tint
The Sugar Plum Fairy Lip Scrub is the best. I have one opened at the moment so that will be going away as a backup. It reminds me of the Comforter Shower Gel, but in an edible form. It tastes and smells of blackcurrant. I picked up the Sugar Plum Fairy Lip Tint as a companion item to the lip scrub.

I feel that this years haul was so much better than last years. I've definitely discovered what products are my favourites and ones that I know don't quite tickle my fancy. I have so much Lush now that it is a bit ridiculous.

Recently, I've been having trouble with the rate temperature in my flat. It is only heating up to a fraction of what it should. Hopefully, after the New Year I can get someone out to fix it. I have so many products that I now need to use.

Let me know what your Lush favourites are? Did you get a chance to visit the sale?

MAC: Fraud or Not?

It's getting to the time of year when  people start gathering together all there gifts in the rush to the holiday season. They start trying to get the best gifts possible for the best price they can. Unfortunately that leaves them vulnerable for people to take advantage of them. The most common form of this is through the use of counterfeit goods.  Recently a MAC lipstick was purchased for me, as a Christmas gift, from eBay. When I learned of it I was immediately sceptical and dubious of how genuine it was; I like to research into the item and view the pictures available myself. When I checked the listing, the lipstick was listed as 'MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick'. Upon looking at the details and the images available, I noticed that there were very few specifics and one general image of the lipstick with the lid off. I immediately wrote to the seller asking for pictures of the bottom label on the box and the lipstick tube (Well as details such as finish and shade). I kn

Totally Fabby MAC Lipstick!

I'm in the middle of shopping for new products; sort of preparing for the transition from winter to spring. Instead of picking up deep burgundies and warm chocolates, I have started to pick up pastel pinks and vanillas. I cannot wait of the warmer weather to roll in.  MAC frost lipstick in the shade Fabby was one of those new seasonal additions I picked up recently. Fabby is a really muted rosy pink shade with a frost finish. The draw point, for me, is the frost sheen gives kind of a golden overlay to the lips. The golden tone just adds an extra dimension, and helps brighten up any makeup look.  For being a frost finish, the colour pigmentation is quite opaque with a single swipe. The texture is not that creamy, and I don't mean that in a bad way. I'd describe it more as very similar to that of a MAC matte finish; creamy and not glossy. I feel that Fabby is one of MACs more overlooked shades; passed over in favour of the more hyped about lipstic

Barry M Colour Changing Lip Paint in Neptune

Remember way, way back, back to the very beginning of my blog. One of the very first products that I reviewed was the Barry M Lip Paint in the shade Genie. For those who don't know, Genie is an unusual colour changing lipstick. While it looks green in the tube, it turns a shade of pink on the lips that is supposed to be different for each person. It is supposed to be a result of the lipstick reacting to the alkaline level of the lips.
