theBalm Nude 'Tude Palette Review and Swatches


In honour of my freedom for the winter holidays, I thought I'd do a swatch and review of a palette that I have been finding myself reaching for over the past month and a half. The palette is the old blogger favourite, theBalm Nude 'Tude Palette! I picked this palette up way back near the beginning of this year and just sat on it for a good couple of months. In October, I did a clean out of my makeup collection and decided to make the effort to try it out; to find out whether I'd like it or not.


The packaging is nice. I didn't realise that there were two different versions of this palette: both a naughty and a nice version. The 'naughty' version has different images of undressed woman with the eyeshadow pans strategically placed, while the 'nice' version that I have has the image of what seems to be a dressing room. I find the cardboard packaging quite flimsy and prone to becoming dirty quite easily. However, the large mirror on the inside is a very large plus in my opinion.

The colour selection is very warm and neutral in tone. There is a nice range of pinks, browns and darker smokey colours. I thought it would be nice to go into depth about each of the shadows individually. 



Sassy, Stubborn, Snobby and Stand-offish
Sassy is a very frosty pure white shade, that has a super pearlised finish. This has really strong pigmentation and is creamy to the touch.
Stubborn is a soft peachy pink shade with a satin finish. The pigmentation is not as strong as Sassy, instead it gives a nice soft wash of colour to the lids. The formula is also a bit firmer than that of Sassy.
Snobby is a buttercup yellow colour with a more shimmery finish. This shadow is very similar to Sassy, in that the pigmentation is strong and super buttery.
Standoffish



Selfish, Sophisticated, Sultry and Seductive
Selfish is a greyish-brown taupe shade that has a very metallic finish. I love shades like this as a very simple wash of colour over my eyelids. 
Sophisticated is a cool toned dark brown shade that has a more shimmery, glittery finish to it. 
Sultry is more of a medium brown that is more warm toned than the previous, and it also differs because it has a satin finish.
Seductive is my favourite out of this group of shadows. It is a deep amber gold shade that comes off as being super metallic. The formula is so smooth and buttery, and is very eye catching.



Sexy, Serious, Silly and Sleek
Sexy is a very deep burgundy colour with a matte finish. I find it to be one of the more stiffer textures in the whole palette.
Serious is a a deep, dark black shade that also has a matte finish to it. It is also very similar to Sexy, in that it also has a slightly drier texture.
Silly is a warm, reddish brown that has a matte finish. However, it is different to the previous two matte shadows because it is packed full of little gold glitters.
Sleek is very similar to Serious, except that it is a dark, dark brown colour. It has both a matte finish and a drier texture.


So far I have been quite enjoying the Nude 'Tude Palette. It allows for me to quickly and effectively create a full eye look without the necessity of using other palettes. I'd recommend to to any other's looking for a good, everyday palette.

Totally Fabby MAC Lipstick!

I'm in the middle of shopping for new products; sort of preparing for the transition from winter to spring. Instead of picking up deep burgundies and warm chocolates, I have started to pick up pastel pinks and vanillas. I cannot wait of the warmer weather to roll in.  MAC frost lipstick in the shade Fabby was one of those new seasonal additions I picked up recently. Fabby is a really muted rosy pink shade with a frost finish. The draw point, for me, is the frost sheen gives kind of a golden overlay to the lips. The golden tone just adds an extra dimension, and helps brighten up any makeup look.  For being a frost finish, the colour pigmentation is quite opaque with a single swipe. The texture is not that creamy, and I don't mean that in a bad way. I'd describe it more as very similar to that of a MAC matte finish; creamy and not glossy. I feel that Fabby is one of MACs more overlooked shades; passed over in favour of the more hyped about lipstic

Barry M Colour Changing Lip Paint in Neptune

Remember way, way back, back to the very beginning of my blog. One of the very first products that I reviewed was the Barry M Lip Paint in the shade Genie. For those who don't know, Genie is an unusual colour changing lipstick. While it looks green in the tube, it turns a shade of pink on the lips that is supposed to be different for each person. It is supposed to be a result of the lipstick reacting to the alkaline level of the lips.
