NYX Lip Lingerie in Lace Detail

The NYX Lip Lingeries; a product I've wanted to try ever since I first read about their release. I have finally found them stocked on my local NYX stand. When I saw them I wanted them all. However, I reigned myself in and purchase just the one; for now.  The Lip Lingeries are not super new but it's the first time I've noticed them on the NYX stand. The colour selection of the range runs very nude, which I have been recently getting very into. Lace Detail is a very light peachy, pink nude colour, unlike any other liquid lipstick I own. I feel that the colour may be just a touch too light for me, but perhaps not. Sometimes I look in the mirror and think that something looks off, but other times I think it looks quite good.

I enjoy that the packaging is very simplistic, a nice clean design on a clear tube. The best part is that I can easily see the colour through the tube, which saves me from having to open it up fully. The long, thin applicator, as compared to the traditional doe-foot, makes it really easy to line the lips before filling them in; especially around about the cupids bow.

The staying power of the Lip Lingerie is about so-so. I've timed it to lasting a little under four hours, without eating, before it starts to fade. If I eat while wearing it, I immediately have to really it. I find that wearing a lipliner, my particular favourite to pair with this is the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in Pillow Talk, improves the wear time and makes any fading less noticeable.

There are two cons with this, that I can think of. The first is that, because the colour is so light, I find that it can look super creased if you don't etiolate beforehand. The product accumulates into the lines on my lips easily and I don't have very chapped lips. The other con is that the formula is very thick, in fact one of the thickest liquid lipstick formulas that I have ever used. Once it has dried down, I still feel like my lips are tacky.

Despite the cons, I still really enjoy this. I just have to be a bit more careful when I wear it. I've heard on the YouTube circuit that there are some formula differences between the many shades, so I'm interested in picking up another for comparison. Perhaps a darker, more purply toned colour.

Have you tried out the Lip Lingeries yet? What was your experience with them?

MAC: Fraud or Not?

It's getting to the time of year when  people start gathering together all there gifts in the rush to the holiday season. They start trying to get the best gifts possible for the best price they can. Unfortunately that leaves them vulnerable for people to take advantage of them. The most common form of this is through the use of counterfeit goods.
Recently a MAC lipstick was purchased for me, as a Christmas gift, from eBay. When I learned of it I was immediately sceptical and dubious of how genuine it was; I like to research into the item and view the pictures available myself. When I checked the listing, the lipstick was listed as 'MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick'. Upon looking at the details and the images available, I noticed that there were very few specifics and one general image of the lipstick with the lid off. I immediately wrote to the seller asking for pictures of the bottom label on the box and the lipstick tube (Well as details such as finish and shade). I knew th…

Farewell to Lime Crime Unicorn Lipsticks

As you may, or may not, know Lime Crime are discontinuing their Unicorn Lipsticks. Such a sad thing, I know. I remember first hearing of the lipstick from a family member who had one in their collection. I always promised myself that one day, I would have a Unicorn Lipstick. When I seen their Instagram post about the discontinue, I immediately went onto their website and bought not one or two, but THREE Unicorn Lipstick. Let me tell you I have never been happier; their are no post buy regrets on these babies!

Barry M Colour Changing Lip Paint in Neptune

Remember way, way back, back to the very beginning of my blog. One of the very first products that I reviewed was the Barry M Lip Paint in the shade Genie. For those who don't know, Genie is an unusual colour changing lipstick. While it looks green in the tube, it turns a shade of pink on the lips that is supposed to be different for each person. It is supposed to be a result of the lipstick reacting to the alkaline level of the lips.
