February Monthly Beauty Favourites

This is one of the longest favourites posts I have ever written! I forgot to post January's Favourites so this is a combinated favourites over the last two months, as opposed to the single month. February has been a good month for beauty favourites, I've been making the effort to switch up what products I've been trying in an effort to not get stuck in a product rut.

Skinfood New Zealand Mud Masque
I love this! It's going to be quite hard to get a hold of when I finish it, Amazon is the only place for purchase I've found so far, but I don't think  I can live without it. It pulls out all my excess oils and impurities, while also brightening up my completion. I've noticed that I have been getting significantly fewer spots since I started using this in January.

BareMinerals Prime Time BB Primer Cream in Fair
I'm feeling like the flawless base is the way to go right now; super smooth and all imperfections covered. But, because all my foundations are between a light to medium coverage, I've been using the BareMinerals Prime Time BB Primer Cream to boost the coverage. The actual coverage of the BB Primer Cream is very light, but it provides an amazing base to my foundations.

Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in Pillow Talk
The ultimate lip liner! I'm really into slightly over defining my lips and evening them out; sometimes not even bothering to put on any lip product over top. Pillow Talk, in particular, gives me a nice pinky, very natural appearing lip, without looking too overdone.

Clinique Laquer Lip Color + Primer in Cocoa Pop
When I have been wearing a lip product, other than my Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat, I have been picking up the Clinique Laquer Lip Color + Primer from my '7 Days of Clinique' advent calander. The colour is very similar to that of Pillow Talk, put instead gives a very glossy finish to my lips. The colour is very full on as a stand alone product, but even more so over the top of Pillow Talk.

Sugar Plum Fairy Lip Scrub
How delicious are Lush lip scrubs? My favourite has to be the Christmas limited edition Sugar Plum Fairy. Not only is it super sweet and sugary, but it also tastes like blackcurrants. Like, if the Comforter was edible, I'd imagine it to taste like this.

Revlon Dramatic Definition Mascara
Volumising mascara is usually my pick of any brand, so this favourite is a complete surprise. The super thin toothed mascara wand would typically not be my favourite, I prefer to use more of a full bristle wand, but I really enjoy this. It gives me defined lashes that create more of a bright eyed, fresh and awake look.

MAC Pigment in Stardream
Simple makeup seems to be the theme of this month. I've been picking simple washes of colour all over my lids, as opposed to anything super complicated. It's simple but gives the effect of having spent more time with my makeup, than I actually did. The MAC Pigment in Stardream is a light orangey, copper colour that is super reflective and shimmery.

What are your monthly favourites? Have you tried any of my favourites products, and if so what did you think?

MAC: Fraud or Not?

It's getting to the time of year when  people start gathering together all there gifts in the rush to the holiday season. They start trying to get the best gifts possible for the best price they can. Unfortunately that leaves them vulnerable for people to take advantage of them. The most common form of this is through the use of counterfeit goods.  Recently a MAC lipstick was purchased for me, as a Christmas gift, from eBay. When I learned of it I was immediately sceptical and dubious of how genuine it was; I like to research into the item and view the pictures available myself. When I checked the listing, the lipstick was listed as 'MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick'. Upon looking at the details and the images available, I noticed that there were very few specifics and one general image of the lipstick with the lid off. I immediately wrote to the seller asking for pictures of the bottom label on the box and the lipstick tube (Well as details such as finish and shade). I kn

Totally Fabby MAC Lipstick!

I'm in the middle of shopping for new products; sort of preparing for the transition from winter to spring. Instead of picking up deep burgundies and warm chocolates, I have started to pick up pastel pinks and vanillas. I cannot wait of the warmer weather to roll in.  MAC frost lipstick in the shade Fabby was one of those new seasonal additions I picked up recently. Fabby is a really muted rosy pink shade with a frost finish. The draw point, for me, is the frost sheen gives kind of a golden overlay to the lips. The golden tone just adds an extra dimension, and helps brighten up any makeup look.  For being a frost finish, the colour pigmentation is quite opaque with a single swipe. The texture is not that creamy, and I don't mean that in a bad way. I'd describe it more as very similar to that of a MAC matte finish; creamy and not glossy. I feel that Fabby is one of MACs more overlooked shades; passed over in favour of the more hyped about lipstic

Barry M Colour Changing Lip Paint in Neptune

Remember way, way back, back to the very beginning of my blog. One of the very first products that I reviewed was the Barry M Lip Paint in the shade Genie. For those who don't know, Genie is an unusual colour changing lipstick. While it looks green in the tube, it turns a shade of pink on the lips that is supposed to be different for each person. It is supposed to be a result of the lipstick reacting to the alkaline level of the lips.
