Spring High-End Beauty Haul

It feels like such a long time since I've done a drugstore haul! I have been resisting, holding myself back from any big spending sprees, but I thought that doing a Spring high-end haul would be nice. To be truthful, I really only needed to get foundation but who can resist a Debenhams Beauty Hall.

Estēe Lauder Double Wear Foundation
I have been dying to try a high-end foundation for months now. Don't get me wrong, I love all my various drugstore foundations, however, I just want to explore the other options out there. I'm over the halfway mark in all of my current foundations, so I felt that a new foundation would be a good investment.  After some research, I concluded that the EstÄ“e Lauder Double Wear was one of the top rated across the internet. I picked out the lightest shade they offer, Shell, after a little bit of struggle. I'm looking forward to testing it out!

Benefit Ka-BROW!
Brows were one of the things I wanted to expand on during this shopping trip. I've been using the same product combination (NYX Micro Brow Pencil/Benefit Gimme Brow) for around about a year now, and I just feel like I need to stretch my wings a bit. I've tried a few products out of the revamped Benefit Brow Collection, but I've been wanting to explore more. I was wavering between the ka-BROW! and the Brow Zings kit. The girl working at the counter was lovely and convinced me that the Ka-BROW would be most suitable for me. I've tried it a few times now and I'm loving it; my eyebrows have never looked better.

Benefit GALifornia
Benefit's newest must have product! I love the quality of the Benefit boxed powders and have the ambition to collect as many as I can. GALifornia has been hyped for so long that I could not resist it. It is the most gorgeous peachy pink colour with a gold shimmery sun design on top. I swatched it at the counter and could not discern any shimmer. It is so pretty that I want to leave it as perfect as I can, for as long as possible.

Browsing the makeup aisles makes me so happy! The lady on the Estēe Lauder counter was telling me how the store was getting a few new stands in the next few months: Kat von D; Bobbi Brown; Kiehl's and Make Up For Ever. I'm so excited, I can't wait!

What was the latest high-end beauty product that you purchased?

MAC: Fraud or Not?

It's getting to the time of year when  people start gathering together all there gifts in the rush to the holiday season. They start trying to get the best gifts possible for the best price they can. Unfortunately that leaves them vulnerable for people to take advantage of them. The most common form of this is through the use of counterfeit goods.  Recently a MAC lipstick was purchased for me, as a Christmas gift, from eBay. When I learned of it I was immediately sceptical and dubious of how genuine it was; I like to research into the item and view the pictures available myself. When I checked the listing, the lipstick was listed as 'MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick'. Upon looking at the details and the images available, I noticed that there were very few specifics and one general image of the lipstick with the lid off. I immediately wrote to the seller asking for pictures of the bottom label on the box and the lipstick tube (Well as details such as finish and shade). I kn

Totally Fabby MAC Lipstick!

I'm in the middle of shopping for new products; sort of preparing for the transition from winter to spring. Instead of picking up deep burgundies and warm chocolates, I have started to pick up pastel pinks and vanillas. I cannot wait of the warmer weather to roll in.  MAC frost lipstick in the shade Fabby was one of those new seasonal additions I picked up recently. Fabby is a really muted rosy pink shade with a frost finish. The draw point, for me, is the frost sheen gives kind of a golden overlay to the lips. The golden tone just adds an extra dimension, and helps brighten up any makeup look.  For being a frost finish, the colour pigmentation is quite opaque with a single swipe. The texture is not that creamy, and I don't mean that in a bad way. I'd describe it more as very similar to that of a MAC matte finish; creamy and not glossy. I feel that Fabby is one of MACs more overlooked shades; passed over in favour of the more hyped about lipstic

Barry M Colour Changing Lip Paint in Neptune

Remember way, way back, back to the very beginning of my blog. One of the very first products that I reviewed was the Barry M Lip Paint in the shade Genie. For those who don't know, Genie is an unusual colour changing lipstick. While it looks green in the tube, it turns a shade of pink on the lips that is supposed to be different for each person. It is supposed to be a result of the lipstick reacting to the alkaline level of the lips.
