June Monthly Beauty Favourites

Another month done and dusted! I swear it feels like it was just Christmas. This month was very important to me. June was the month that four quick years finally paid off; the month that will forever be remembered as when I graduated University. I'm a bit sad I'm not going straight into my Master's Degree, but I'm going to take some time off, make some money to help pay for it, and get some experience. But nobody wants to hear about my life, makeup is much, much more exciting! During my little hiatus, I took the opportunity to test lots of new makeup. June's beauty favourites are some of the stand out products from that time period.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream
I picked this up on a random whim at the beginning of last month when my local Body Shop was running some amazing deals! It has been one of my most used products during my mini hiatus. I have it in the shade '01', the lightest. For there only being three shades, it is a pretty good match for my pale skin. People who don't enjoy products with a strong scent should maybe give a pass on this, as it contains organic tea tree oil, lemon tea tree oil and tamanu oil.

Makeup Revolution Matte Lip Kit in Echelon
I have found my everyday pinky nude liquid lipstick. It is a perfect dusty, pink nude shade. The original formula of the Makeup Revolution Matte Lip Kits was not one of my favourites; it left my lips feeling extremely dry and slightly gritty. Like the product balled up after it had dried. However, the new formula is so much nicer, comparable to the likes of Kat von D and Anastasia Beverly Hills. The new formula is smooth, not too drying and lasts for ages before the inner lip starts to fade.

Maybelline One by One Volum' Express
I am one of those people who will have tonnes of unopened mascaras just collecting in my drawer, just waiting for the time I need a new one. You can't beat that feeling of opening a fresh new mascara! I bought this legit ages ago from Tk Maxx, so much so that it seems to have been discontinued, however I only opened it a few weeks ago. I didn't really expect much but I'm really enjoying it. I got the shade brownish-black which makes it a lot more natural than many of my other mascaras. The mascara itself is very lengthening and separating and defines my eyes very nicely. Two big thumbs up! However, I just need to find something similar for future use, just because it has been discontinued.

theBalm Frat Boy Blush
Summer has to be all about the pinky peach blushes! Since buying theBalm Frat Boy from the BirchBox Shop, I have been in serious love! The shade is just perfect for a natural, summertime blush, not too over the top. The blush is very pigmented though, so a heavy hand could lead to slightly overdone cheeks. I find that there is a little bit of powder dust kicked up when I apply it, even though I do use a heavy hand. Maybe the formula of the blush is a bit softer than others I have used?

Benefit KaBrow!
Over the past year, I have become very invested in my brows. I've been choosing to go a bit bolder and more defined with my brows. While the NYX Micro Brow Pencil used to be my go-to, the Benefit KaBrow is the way forward! I find it so easy to use and the pigmentation is just right: not too strong to create Sharpie brows, but not so weak that it does nothing. It's also super handy that there is a little brow brush hidden in the handle of the cap; making it super travel-friendly.

I'm always looking for new products to be recommended, so let me know what some of your recent favourites have been! Makeup, skincare, bodycare, I don't mind!

MAC: Fraud or Not?

It's getting to the time of year when  people start gathering together all there gifts in the rush to the holiday season. They start trying to get the best gifts possible for the best price they can. Unfortunately that leaves them vulnerable for people to take advantage of them. The most common form of this is through the use of counterfeit goods.  Recently a MAC lipstick was purchased for me, as a Christmas gift, from eBay. When I learned of it I was immediately sceptical and dubious of how genuine it was; I like to research into the item and view the pictures available myself. When I checked the listing, the lipstick was listed as 'MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick'. Upon looking at the details and the images available, I noticed that there were very few specifics and one general image of the lipstick with the lid off. I immediately wrote to the seller asking for pictures of the bottom label on the box and the lipstick tube (Well as details such as finish and shade). I kn

Totally Fabby MAC Lipstick!

I'm in the middle of shopping for new products; sort of preparing for the transition from winter to spring. Instead of picking up deep burgundies and warm chocolates, I have started to pick up pastel pinks and vanillas. I cannot wait of the warmer weather to roll in.  MAC frost lipstick in the shade Fabby was one of those new seasonal additions I picked up recently. Fabby is a really muted rosy pink shade with a frost finish. The draw point, for me, is the frost sheen gives kind of a golden overlay to the lips. The golden tone just adds an extra dimension, and helps brighten up any makeup look.  For being a frost finish, the colour pigmentation is quite opaque with a single swipe. The texture is not that creamy, and I don't mean that in a bad way. I'd describe it more as very similar to that of a MAC matte finish; creamy and not glossy. I feel that Fabby is one of MACs more overlooked shades; passed over in favour of the more hyped about lipstic

Barry M Colour Changing Lip Paint in Neptune

Remember way, way back, back to the very beginning of my blog. One of the very first products that I reviewed was the Barry M Lip Paint in the shade Genie. For those who don't know, Genie is an unusual colour changing lipstick. While it looks green in the tube, it turns a shade of pink on the lips that is supposed to be different for each person. It is supposed to be a result of the lipstick reacting to the alkaline level of the lips.
