Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor in Devotion

Recently I've been trying to pack up all my travel makeup for going a way next week, and it is proving harder than I remember. My makeup bag weights a tonne and I seem to be taking everything but the kitchen sink. While I have been trying to whittle down what I'm taking, I've been noticing products that I haven''t used a long time. The Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolors are one of those products. Since chucking it in my travel bag, I have not been able to stop reaching for it.

Devotion was the shade that originally caught my eye, way back in like Spring! The colour is a very bright in-your-face pink, but with a deeper mauve undertone. It smells so amazing! The scent is so sweet and yummy that it reminds me of sweeties. I love that the scent hangs around for a bt before dissipating. however, if you are not a fan of heavily fragranced makeup, then this may be a pass for you.

I don't find that wearing a lipliner is a necessity for the lipstick, however by wearing one underneath the wear time could be improved by a couple of hours. The application is very smooth and quick; I find that one swipe gives a full opacity coverage. The flattened doe-foot applicator is definitely one of my favourite. The packaging is very smooth and sleek. I love how durable it feels; I have no fears over the plastic cracking.

I feel that the word 'matte' in the product name is kind of misleading. The texture is more similar to a normal liquid lipstick, not a matte one. It feels a little bit thick and the finish initially appears to be very glossy. Only after wearing it for a while does the glossiness go away and the matte finish comes into effect. As this does feel so creamy, I find myself reaching for it on days when my lips are needing some moisturisation, as well as some colour.

I definitely feel that this could be my go-to lip product while on holiday. I just need to remember and put it back into my travel bag before I go, otherwise I might just have to go and buy a duplicate while I'm out there.

Have you tried the Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolors? Do you have a favourite shade?

MAC: Fraud or Not?

It's getting to the time of year when  people start gathering together all there gifts in the rush to the holiday season. They start trying to get the best gifts possible for the best price they can. Unfortunately that leaves them vulnerable for people to take advantage of them. The most common form of this is through the use of counterfeit goods.  Recently a MAC lipstick was purchased for me, as a Christmas gift, from eBay. When I learned of it I was immediately sceptical and dubious of how genuine it was; I like to research into the item and view the pictures available myself. When I checked the listing, the lipstick was listed as 'MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick'. Upon looking at the details and the images available, I noticed that there were very few specifics and one general image of the lipstick with the lid off. I immediately wrote to the seller asking for pictures of the bottom label on the box and the lipstick tube (Well as details such as finish and shade). I kn

Totally Fabby MAC Lipstick!

I'm in the middle of shopping for new products; sort of preparing for the transition from winter to spring. Instead of picking up deep burgundies and warm chocolates, I have started to pick up pastel pinks and vanillas. I cannot wait of the warmer weather to roll in.  MAC frost lipstick in the shade Fabby was one of those new seasonal additions I picked up recently. Fabby is a really muted rosy pink shade with a frost finish. The draw point, for me, is the frost sheen gives kind of a golden overlay to the lips. The golden tone just adds an extra dimension, and helps brighten up any makeup look.  For being a frost finish, the colour pigmentation is quite opaque with a single swipe. The texture is not that creamy, and I don't mean that in a bad way. I'd describe it more as very similar to that of a MAC matte finish; creamy and not glossy. I feel that Fabby is one of MACs more overlooked shades; passed over in favour of the more hyped about lipstic

Barry M Colour Changing Lip Paint in Neptune

Remember way, way back, back to the very beginning of my blog. One of the very first products that I reviewed was the Barry M Lip Paint in the shade Genie. For those who don't know, Genie is an unusual colour changing lipstick. While it looks green in the tube, it turns a shade of pink on the lips that is supposed to be different for each person. It is supposed to be a result of the lipstick reacting to the alkaline level of the lips.
