First Ever Colourpop Haul!

I have been wishing and wishing to try some Colourpop goodies since I first started this blog three years ago! I just struggled with the idea of placing a large order and then getting crazy customs fees on top of that. Not to mention they only started shipping to the Uk earlier this year! So, I finally decided to bit the bullet and place an order. I decided to place a big order and have it shipped to my Disney World hotel during my holiday last month. My Disney World trip was a joint present for my university graduation and 24th birthday, so what was a little more splurge?

Look at it all! Is it not the most beautiful thing you have ever seen? And it was delivered right to my Disney World room the very first day I was there. As I've already said, I decided to go BIG! At the time of ordering this, Colourpop was offering buy two liquid lips and get one free. They were also running discounts on their last chance products. I think the best way to go through this haul is to just give an overview of what I purchased and go into more detail in separate posts otherwise, we may be here for ages.

The first product that made its way into my basket was the Mile High Best of the Super Shock Shadow Collection. This was one of the products in their last chance section and was reduced down to $20. As each individual shadow is priced at $5 each, this was essentially giving me two shadows for free. And to top it all off, the shadows inside were all fairly popular shades.

From top to bottom, left to right, the shadows are: Truth, Nillionaire, So Quiche, Lala, Cricket and Mittens. My first impression is that the sensation of the formula is so unique. The soft, bouncy creme texture will take a bit of getting used to.

Right next to the Mile High Collection was another irresistible, last chance product, the Staycation Best of the Lippie Stix Collection. Like the Mile High Collection, this was also $20. The difference between the two collections is that lippie stix are priced at $6 each, creating a $16 saving. I knew I wanted to try the lippie stix, but I couldn't for the life of me decide on what shades to purchase. I figured that this would give me a little taste of everything.

From left to right, the shadows are: Cookie, Brink, Grunge, LBB, I HEART This and Bossy. On first impression, I find that they feel quite creamy and moisturising, especially because they are all matte finishes. For that reason, I've found that the wear time is fair enough. The formula is not as long lasting as, for example, MAC Ruby Woo but by no means do they fade quickly.

I felt that because the Mile High Collection is so neutral brown in tone, the variation of shades was a bit too close, I decided to pop a few Super Shock Shadow singles onto my order. It does help that I essentially got one for free with the $5 off my first purchase coupon code. I decided to pick out White Rabbit, Lightening Bug, and Cuddle Buddy.

And of course, with the buy two liquid lips get one free offer that they had running, I just had to pick up some of their liquid lipsticks. I had heard that the formula of the Ultra Matte Lips can be quite drying, so I split my liquid lip purchase directly in half between the Ultra Matte and the Ultra Satin Lips.

The Ultra Matte Lips that I picked were: Bianca, Saigon, and Clueless. When picking them out online, Clueless looked a fair bit darker than what it is in real life but I suppose that's the trouble with ordering online, no matter how many swatches you look at. I agree with everyone that says the Ultra Matte Lip formula can be quite drying, but I combat that by using lip balm underneath.

The Ultra Satin Lips that I picked were: Virginia, Petit Four, and The Rabbit. The Ultra Satin Lip formula is definitely my favourite out of the two! I decided that if I was getting two free lippies then I was going for the super bold, unusual colours, The Rabbit and Petit Four being my choice.

Congrats if you have made it this far! I did not expect when sitting down to write this post that it would turn out so long. I'm glad I have decided to do individual reviews where I go more in-depth and do all the swatches otherwise I'd never finish writing. Let me know if you enjoyed this post!

What is your favourite Colourpop product?

MAC: Fraud or Not?

It's getting to the time of year when  people start gathering together all there gifts in the rush to the holiday season. They start trying to get the best gifts possible for the best price they can. Unfortunately that leaves them vulnerable for people to take advantage of them. The most common form of this is through the use of counterfeit goods.  Recently a MAC lipstick was purchased for me, as a Christmas gift, from eBay. When I learned of it I was immediately sceptical and dubious of how genuine it was; I like to research into the item and view the pictures available myself. When I checked the listing, the lipstick was listed as 'MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick'. Upon looking at the details and the images available, I noticed that there were very few specifics and one general image of the lipstick with the lid off. I immediately wrote to the seller asking for pictures of the bottom label on the box and the lipstick tube (Well as details such as finish and shade). I kn

Totally Fabby MAC Lipstick!

I'm in the middle of shopping for new products; sort of preparing for the transition from winter to spring. Instead of picking up deep burgundies and warm chocolates, I have started to pick up pastel pinks and vanillas. I cannot wait of the warmer weather to roll in.  MAC frost lipstick in the shade Fabby was one of those new seasonal additions I picked up recently. Fabby is a really muted rosy pink shade with a frost finish. The draw point, for me, is the frost sheen gives kind of a golden overlay to the lips. The golden tone just adds an extra dimension, and helps brighten up any makeup look.  For being a frost finish, the colour pigmentation is quite opaque with a single swipe. The texture is not that creamy, and I don't mean that in a bad way. I'd describe it more as very similar to that of a MAC matte finish; creamy and not glossy. I feel that Fabby is one of MACs more overlooked shades; passed over in favour of the more hyped about lipstic

Barry M Colour Changing Lip Paint in Neptune

Remember way, way back, back to the very beginning of my blog. One of the very first products that I reviewed was the Barry M Lip Paint in the shade Genie. For those who don't know, Genie is an unusual colour changing lipstick. While it looks green in the tube, it turns a shade of pink on the lips that is supposed to be different for each person. It is supposed to be a result of the lipstick reacting to the alkaline level of the lips.
